Student Support

You Are Not Alone

Balancing school, work, and personal life can be overwhelming. If you are struggling, you are not alone, and you do not have to carry the weight by yourself.

Many students need support or guidance with a wide range of academic, personal, and emotional challenges, including:

  • Difficulty adjusting to life at school
  • Procrastination and the need to develop stronger time-management skills
  • Anxiety related to public speaking or class participation
  • Worries about upcoming exams and academic performance
  • Stress caused by financial challenges
  • Feelings of loneliness or homesickness
  • Suicidal ideation and other serious mental health concerns.

GuardMe Student Support Program

The innovative GuardMe Student Support Program (GMSSP) offers comprehensive support and resources for students, providing 24/7 assistance to all Willis College students. This program provides direct support through the Telus Health Student Support app to students, while also offering consultative guidance to faculty and staff who work closely with them.

GMSSP offers confidential mental health support at no cost to students, providing round-the-clock access to qualified counselors who speak their language, understand their culture, and recognize the unique challenges students face. These supports and resources for students are designed to promote well-being, resilience, and academic success.

Through the TELUS Health Student Support app, students can access a wide range of multilingual articles, videos, and mental health resources, as well as connect directly with a counselor via phone or chat—anytime, anywhere.
