Build a Skilled and Reliable Dental Team
Willis College offers a specialized framework for dental clinics to address workforce shortages and enhance internal operational capacity. Our integrated approach focuses on three primary pillars:
- Upskilling existing clinical staff
- Hosting practicum students
- Recruiting industry-ready graduates
Willis College offers specialized programs to support your dental clinic’s success:
Ontario
- Dental Assistant Level I & II Program: Train or hire Level I & II Dental Assistants to support chairside procedures and patient care.
- Dental Radiography (HARP Approved) Program: Ensure your team meets radiography certification requirements to operate X-ray equipment safely and effectively.
Nova Scotia
- Dental Assisting Program: Train or hire Level I & II Dental Assistants to support chairside procedures and patient care.
Upskill Your Existing Staff
Clinics can enhance their internal service offerings by transitioning current office or chairside staff into certified Level I and II Dental Assistants. This pathway allows employees to maintain their professional commitments while completing their credentials.
- Flexible Hybrid Learning – Employees can train while continuing to work.
- Hands-On Training in Your Clinic – Gain extra support as they learn.
- Funding Opportunities – Training may be more affordable than you think with external funding options for eligible clinics and employees.
- Lifelong Learning Program – Graduates can return to Willis College to refresh their skills for free.
Clinical Practicum Partnerships
Willis College invites established dental practices to serve as host sites for students enrolled in our Dental Assisting program. Unlike traditional models with brief end-of-term placements, our students are integrated into clinical environments early in their studies.
Consistent Support: Students dedicate two days (10 hours) per week to workplace skills development throughout the duration of the program.
Operational Integration: Host clinics benefit from a consistent student presence, allowing the student to become acclimated to the specific workflows and protocols of the practice.
Supervised Excellence: All clinical hours are monitored by Willis College to ensure students meet the rigorous standards required for provincial certification.
